SOLID YOKE DC MOTOR
Self Fan Cooled Motors have an internal cooling fan on the motor shaft. However, with self fan cooling, it is not recommended to run the motor below 80% of the rated speed for longer periods.

FORCE COOLED DC MOTORS
Motors used for variable speed drives, normally run in the speed range of 1:20 by armature control & are cooled by a separate force cooling unit mounted on the motor. Normally this unit consists of 1/3 Ph. A.C. motor driven Fan (blower), which runs at a constant speed, giving constant rate of cooling, irrespective of the speed of the main D.C. Motor.

TOTALLY ENCLOSED DC MOTORS
Totally enclosed motors are recommended for installation in dusty and highly humid environments. In this type of motor, there is no direct contact between the internal air and the external atmosphere. Motors with different cooling arrangements as under are manufactured.

GEARED DC MOTOR
DC Motor With Worm Reduction or Inline Helical Gear boxes directly mounted on DC Motor flange.

BREAK MOTOR
DC Motor With Electromagnetic fail safe brake mounted on Motor shaft at NDE to stop Motor instantly when Motor supply is cut off.
Break Supply Voltage: 24 to 190 V DC

LAMINATED YOKE DC MOTOR
As the name suggests, the entire Body / yoke of the Motor is of laminated construction. These motors are more compact in design, with high power to weight ratio having good commuting ability under high ripple armature currents given by Thyristor Drives, and also have good dynamic response.
